Delaware River Basin Commission Walk
Tuesday, October 6, 11:30 a.m. – 1 p.m.

Walkers will meet with representatives of the DRBC, the federal-interstate agency that
manages, protects, and improves the Delaware River Basin, for an overview of the agency’s
work in the region and a tour of their office located at 25 Cosey Road, West Trenton (Ewing
Twp). Participants will tour an on-site lab, meet water quality scientists, and learn about the
Commission’s field programs that monitor basin health and emerging contaminants.
Then the group will carpool from the office to the Delaware & Raritan Canal parking lot off
Bernhard Dr. & River Rd. (west of the Canal, on NJ 29 & NJ 175) and walk to Pennsylvania on
the new bicycle / pedestrian bridge along Interstate 295. They will loop back to the D&R Canal
Towpath and continue to Upper Ferry Road, returning to the D&R Canal parking lot.
Along the way on the 1.8-mile walk, all will enjoy spectacular views of the Delaware River and
learn about the historic significance of this location, as well as opportunities to connect to the
Delaware and Lehigh Canal Trail and other bridges over the Delaware River.
